Hello Storm families,

We are getting ready for the last two exciting weeks of the swim season. This week we have our last two regular meets at Conklin and Flourtown Swim Club, followed by A and B champs next week and then the Team Awards Party.

Swimmers must sign up for Champs by Friday, July 22nd. You sign-up for Champs by replying to this email or by emailing or telling Coach Sydney at practice. Each swimmer may select two individual events for Champs. Some swimmers choose their events based on the TOP 25 list from the Liberty League. This list is found under the Results heading on the website. I have also attached it to this email. It will be updated after I get the results for Wednesday's meet. Others choose based on the events they most like to swim. The cost for each event is $3.00 for a max of $6.00 per swimmer. There is no entry fee for the relays.

Important Information needed to sign up for Champs

1. If you are available for A Champs or B Champs or Both. It is possible for swimmers to qualify for one event at B Champs, one at A Champs or to qualify for B Champs and then just the relays at A Champs. Therefore, we need to know who is available for each meet. It is so important to add this information so the coaches do not have to contact everyone to make sure they are available.

2. What TWO strokes does your swimmer want to swim?

3. Payment is needed for champs meet. You can bring the $6.00 ($3.00 for each event/stroke) in cash and give to Sydney, Sharyn or Ryan at practice or a meet. Or you can Venmo to @Sharyn-Wilson-1 and put Champs for the reason.

B CHAMPS - Wednesday, July 27th at Conklin Pool – swimmers arrive by 5:30pm

• All swimmers are eligible for B Champs, with the requirement that the swimmer has participated in at least 2 regular meets.
• You may participate in 2 individual events of your choosing. (there are no relays at B champs)
• Alternates can swim their events at B's but still must attend A champs in case of a scratch. It it possible for an alternate to swim an event a B's and then get to swim it again at A's if someone scratches.
• If you qualify for A champs in an event, you may not swim that event at B champs.

A CHAMPS - Sat, July 30th at Crestmont Pool – swimmers arrive by 7:30am

• Individual Events: The top 12 ranked swimmers in the entire Liberty League, who signed up for each event, qualify for A champs. A seed meeting with the coaches is held the Sunday before champs and during this meeting swimmers are placed in their preferable events, and scratched from others. Therefore, although you may not currently be in the top 12, you could still qualify depending on the number of scratches. (Please keep in mind that depending on the # of scratches, swimmers ranked in the top 30 may still qualify…it happens more than you think!).
• Alternates are also selected (13th and 14th ranks). If someone were to scratch out of the meet either the week before or on the day of Champs, the alternates will fill those positions.
• If you qualify and do not accept a position at A champs (scratch), you MAY NOT swim that event in B champs.
• Each swimmer may swim 4 events maximum. 2 individual events and 2 relays.
• This year, Liberty League has continued with the MEDLEY RELAY for each age group. These relays will be at the beginning of the meet. There is also a 6U mixed (2 boys and 2 girls) freestyle at A Champs only.
• You must have participated by swimming in 2 meets to qualify for A champs.
• Please indicate with your champs information if you are available for the relays at A Champs.

Swimmers will be notified after the scratch meeting on 7/24 of which meets (A, B, or both) they will be participating in.

Any questions - please feel free to ask Sydney, Sharyn, Ryan this week!! Again, it is very important to have this information turned in by the end of this week. After the Seed Meeting on Sunday, July 24th you will not be able to be added to the Champs meets.
