    2021 Storm Season!

    Good Afternoon Storm Families!

I am sure that you have been eager to find out about how the Summer 2021 swim team season will look! Unless the county or state sends out restrictions, the Hatboro Borough is planning on opening the pool this summer. This means that we would be able to have practices! I wanted to keep you all informed that there was also a Liberty League meeting on Sunday and we discussed how meets might look. We are still waiting to hear from some pools about if they will be opening, making the traditional 6-meet schedule challenging.

However, the league was all in agreement that based on where our communities stand in June, we will have three different possible scenarios. Scenario one would be “Mini Meets” where we would have groups of kids swimming (for example 8s and 10s on Wednesday nights and 11 and up on Saturday mornings). Scenario two would be regular meets with no spectators. Scenario three would be having meets that look similar to what a regular season would look like. With all of these scenarios, please note that championship meets at the end of the season are unlikely.

With this being said, the league coaches and representatives encourage you to mark your calendars for the typical 6-week summer season (June 21st-July 31st) and leave your Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings open!

I am very excited that while this season will not look the same, we will be able to see all of our swimmers and will be getting into the pool in some capacity this summer!

Registration for swimmers will open on April 1st. We encourage swimmers of any age to join the team, however, this year we will not have a traditional pre-team. We will require that all swimmers are able to swim at least one lap unassisted

Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope all of our families are doing well and staying safe!
