Welcome Hatboro Storm Families!

Our Hatboro Pool Parent Association and coaches are eager to begin the 2016 season.  We are happy to announce our webpage master, Gary Summer, has enabled our website to offer online registration. 

**The registration form and online payment is just one part of the process to be able to be a swimmer for Hatboro Storm Swim Team. 

Our league, Liberty League, also requires that swimmers hold memberships to the pool that they swim for during the summer season.  Therefore, you do need to go to the Hatboro Borough Municipal Building located at 414 South York Road, Hatboro, PA (open Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM) to purchase either a seasonal or a “SWIM TEAM ONLY” membership.

The pool memberships go on sale beginning April 15th.  Do not purchase both a seasonal and a “SWIM TEAM ONLY” membership.  If you purchase the seasonal membership it does cost more, but you can use the pool during pool hours (not just for our swim practices, meets, and special team events).  If you purchase the “SWIM TEAM ONLY” membership then you will end up paying $55.00 per swimmer and can only be at Hatboro Memorial Pool for the team practices, meets, and special events.   We will be checking membership cards since that is required by our league.  You will get your photo taken at the borough, or it may just be easier to go to the borough building with a picture that is at least 1” x 1”.  Swimmers cannot swim for any other summer leagues. 

Our swim team suit this year is going to be the Adidas Solid Splice Vortex Back in red for the girls and the Adidas Solid Splice Jammer in red for the boys.  Both suits are mainly black with red detailing on the sides.  We will have Personal Best Swim Shop at our team’s time trials on Friday, June 24th 7:15AM to around 9:00AM.  They have two shops.  One shop is located at 2613 Street Road in Bensalem, PA (phone number: 215-244-1244).  The second shop is located at 411 Doylestown Road, Montgomeryville, PA (phone number : 267-263-4693). They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.  Please call ahead to be sure they do have the suit in stock.  You are not required to buy this suit.  Boys often wear plain black speedo jammers.  The suits are meant to have a tight fit.

Our team’s first official practice is currently scheduled for Monday, June 20th. We have four different practice groups: Thunder (pre team), Lightning, Red, and Black.  The coaches will evaluate swimmers and place them in groups with set times for those groups.  During the season swimmers may move from one group to another depending on their progress.  The scheduled time slots for the groups are TBA.  Pre team swimmers will have 2 chances each week (the day before meets) to determine if they may be able to swim in the upcoming meet.  Coaches will then invite the swimmer to the next meet. 

All other swimmers are required to swim in at least four of the six regular season meets (this does not include A or B CHAMPS).  A parent or guardian (per swim team family) is required to volunteer at 3 of the regular season meets.  The swimmers practice each morning Monday through Friday.  The pre team practices three mornings a week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

A big thank you to Hatboro Federal Savings for supporting our team with a generous donation!  This will enable us to purchase a much needed new starter system for our meets.
